Thank you so very much for taking the time out of your schedule to help people with scoring. I watched all your videos, and was very inspired by what I saw and heard from you. I’ve been more focused in my own self studies with orchestration/midi mock-ups for some time, and looking at your tutorial was very encouraging.
For one, it confirmed for me with my own studies how much more I’ve learned than I gave myself credit for. As I followed along with you working on the first motif, I had all the right answers about what instruments could be used for the Louis & Superman call/answer motifs. Only difference is I thought of a doubling of Oboe+Flute for the WW’s, and either a FHorn or Tenor TB for the response.
But the fact that I was already thinking in the same direction you were for the first time, makes me feel like my time and efforts of score analysis, and etc. are paying off in spades. Not to mention that I’m looking for EVERY single opportunity to score more films/trailers under my belt, other than what I’ve already been fortunate enough to score professionally.
I think the fact that I’ve already had formal training in college as a music major has certainly helped my transition to orchestration & midi mock-ups. But, it’s always great to listen to another accomplished musician/composer “fill-in-the-blanks” in regards to what I’ve done right, or wrong, or just a “fresh” perspective.
Thanks again.
